Manufacturing Facility

Vanguard Utility is developing a new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Apex that will focus on producing sterile liquid medicines that frequently appear on the FDA’s drug shortage list. The facility is designed to serve hospitals, pharmacies, and healthcare providers that depend on a stable supply of these critical medications.

At the heart of the facility will be advanced Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) manufacturing technology. This highly automated process forms a container, fills it with sterile liquid medicine, and seals it in a single continuous operation within a controlled sterile environment. By integrating these steps into one streamlined process, BFS technology supports consistent quality while enabling high-volume, efficient production.

The Apex facility is designed to operate as an FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facility, enabling Vanguard Utility to supply sterile injectable medicines directly to healthcare providers across the United States. With high-throughput BFS production lines, the facility will be able to manufacture large quantities of essential medicines with the reliability and speed required to help address persistent shortages.

Vanguard Utility is an operational subsidiary of Apiject, created to focus on manufacturing essential injectable medicines in the United States using advanced BFS technology. By combining modern pharmaceutical manufacturing with a mission focused on supply resilience, Vanguard is helping rebuild domestic capacity for medicines that the U.S. healthcare system depends on every day.

Through its new facility in Apex, North Carolina, Vanguard Utility aims to strengthen the nation’s pharmaceutical supply chain by producing high-quality, shortage-listed liquid generics closer to the patients who need them. The result is a more reliable, scalable, and resilient supply of critical medicines for American hospitals and pharmacies.
